The Power of Words

As a writer with a marketing background, words are the foundation of my toolkit. I love words. I’ve studied their impact on messaging and their ability to affect people and evoke action or reaction.

This video was initially used by an ad agency to remind potential clients that messaging is critical to increasing sales. As the video went viral, its impact on humanity surfaced.

NOTE: Our words last beyond their intrinsic meanings. Choose them wisely.

MAHO HALWA Recipe

MAHO HALWA

Cooking time : 45 minutes

Ingredients

¼ cup butter or 60 g
2 tins NESTLÉ® Sweetened Condensed Milk or 790 g
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
½ teaspoon saffron filament

Preparation

Melt Butter in a deep saucepan, add 2 tins NESTLÉ® Sweetened Condensed Milk , and Cardamom Powder and cook over medium heat with constant stirring until color has become golden brown but not burnt. About 40 minutes.

Once the Halwa hold together and have a stretchy consistency, stir in Saffron Strands and remove from heat. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before pouring into desired mold to fully cool.

Cut into shape and serve.

I’m So Excited!

I am so very excited about the holidays this year. What am I saying, I have been excited about Christmas all my life. As the youngest in my family, I believe that it is my birthright. Never lose your childish enthusiasm!

Sunday Reflections

PROVERBS 16:7

7 When a person’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Although it changes along with my experiences, this scripture has been my favorite for a couple of years now.  Suffice it to say that leadership comes at a price.  Sometimes we choose it willingly and sometimes it is thrust upon us whether we want it or not.  Following my own path is not so difficult, however, creating a path for others to follow and adopt… #painful!  Even if those you lead actually believe in your ability to do so, inevitably there will be folks among them who question your ability or resent it. My prayer is to accept leadership with grace and humility at all times whether at home or at work.
