House Hunters International Paris

Standard

The objective for this year’s Paris trip was specifically to move my longtime goal of becoming a Paris resident from dream to reality. With a few serendipitous opportunities to meet the right real estate people, I am closer than ever to the goal.

I had narrowed down my search to Montparnasse a few years ago. Now, there’s a street (Rue Littre) as well. Mission accomplished.

Happy Thursday! Nina Simone and Paris go hand in hand. She adopted the city as her home as well. Here’s a sample of her brilliance.

Last Meal Of A Parisian Wanna Be

Standard

I knew it would finally arrive. My last day in Europe, specifically Paris, is here. It wasn’t hard to find my favorite parting food and the final meal of a francophile returning stateside. Chocolate!!

Charivari is a restaurant in Montparnasse that has the best chocolate ice cream ever. I don’t want the recipe, I just want to sit here at my sidewalk table at the corner of Montparnasse and Raspail Blvds., enjoy my ice cream and post a picture that will make you wish you were here… Bon appetit!!

Next Stop… London!

Standard

Happy Sunday! Arrived early this morning at Nord Station in Paris to catch the Eurostar to London. We met Liz and Hanna, a mother and daughter from London who were happy to give us tips on their favorite shopping and eating spots in the city. We all shared experiences and confusion with trying to decipher the Paris subway system. I was glad that their observations of the states, particularly New York, faired much better.

We safely arrived in London and look forward to Harrod’s and taking in the sites. No rest for the stealth travelers!

New Life, New Neighborhood in Paris

Standard

Strolling the Paris neighborhood of Montparnasse, I realized that my future home is here. Thanks to my friend Alice, shopping for an apartment was an experience rather than a required task for a “future dated relocation”. Friends, take a look and let me know if you find the culture and artistic vibe as exhilarating as I do!

Where Chocolate Goes To Live

Standard

I am forever amazed at the respect and lovely presentation given to food in random street shops in Europe. Here is another example of my chocolate being treated in a manner pleasing to any chocoholic. Pastries at a Paris sidewalk cafe…
